Recently I did a blog round up of lots of AMAZING AND INCREDIBLE Mom (and Dad!) bloggers! As a self-proclaimed SEO girl, social media rockstar, and blogging-lover…I noticed one thing that a LOT of pages when I was nailing down my top 100 who were dropping the ball on their Facebook pages.
10 Points to those who had a Facebook page connected to their blog! That’s a great source of link juice when you link from your blog to your page and vice-versa! But there is a LOT of valuable real estate on your Facebook page that can totally help people to find and connect with you too! 🙂
The biggest thing I noticed was that lots of Facebook pages had a decent amount of likes, but didn’t have their URL set. Setting your Facebook URL is one way to make sure it’s simple and easy to find your page! If people like your blog, they may like you on Facebook too! 😀
Yes, you can have your Facebook like box on your sidebar (which most bloggers have! another 10 points!), but setting the URL makes it simple and easy for your followers to find you and for you to link to!
So, let’s dig into how to change your Facebook URL!
Right now, if you haven’t done this, your page probably has a URL that looks something like this:
http://facebook.com/pages/The Name Of Your Page/23756654230-2187541438 <–Not easy to remember for you or your followers!
But don’t fret! If you have more than 25 likes, you can EASILY figure out how to change your Facebook URL right now. It’s so simple, and I bet you’ve probably just accidentally overlooked it in the past.
Just head to your page. Click about. Click “Facebook Web Address”. Here is where you can set your URL. You can make it anything you like, but most people try to make it the title of their page. 🙂 If you’ve set it before, you do have the option to change it once. But Only once, so make sure before you start! 🙂
Knowing how to change your Facebook URL, will help you to be able to link back to your Facebook page as well as help your followers to find your page! It’s valuable real estate to secure for your business! 🙂
